Top eight crazy new products for your vagina

High-tech toys and tools offer scads of information. It's hard to imagine we survived so long without them

SKIP

If you’re in the market for some vaginal retail therapy, you’re in luck. From high-tech sex toys to weed suppositories, there seems to be no shortage of products designed for in or around your intimate areas. Check out the list of products designed specifically for your vagina below.

1. “Smart” vibrators

Ladies, if you’re looking for an orgasm, you might think about investing in a vibrator. But if you’re looking to learn about your orgasm, you’ll need to invest in something different, something “smart.” Fortunately, there’s a school of entrepreneurs who have managed to merge the two. Smart vibrators are out there, and they’re available in sex shops near you. The Lioness is just one example. Though it looks like your standard sex toy, the Lioness is loaded with advanced sensors to help measure your orgasm through vaginal contractions, temperature and movement. All that information can be accessed through an app that users are encouraged to download on their smartphones. In that way, women can better understand how long it takes them to achieve orgasm and what kind of stimulation they like best, and it even offers suggestions about what you can try next.

2. “Smart” period trackers

Yeah, predicting your period can be hard. And most women have had to make a mad dash to the pharmacy at least once in their lives. Fortunately, we’re looking at a future where that will no longer be part of the period routine. Because period tracking has now become a techy endeavor. The folks behind the LoonCup advertise their product as “the world’s first smart menstrual cup.” The device can best be described as a sustainable feminine hygiene product that can be worn inside the vagina to collect menstrual fluid. It relies on built-in sensors to collect information regarding fluid volume, color and other important tidbits about your cycle. All information will be delivered directly to your smartphone. Learn more, leak less.

3. Period sex without the mess

Unless your partner has a penchant for period blood (and believe me, some do), you might feel inclined to hold off on sex until after your cycle comes to an end. But who wants to let a pesky little thing like your period get in the way of a romping good time. That’s at least what the folks behind Flex were thinking. The device is designed to sit at the base of the cervix to collect menstrual fluid. Meanwhile, the vaginal canal is left open for entry. It’s the perfect product for frisky menstruating women with picky partners.

4. Weed tampons

Most of the time, tampons and periods come as a package. But not always. Sometimes, they come paired with cannabis. Foria vaginal suppositories were designed to help stimulate pelvic relaxation, facilitate deep penetration and create a heightened sense of arousal for women who like weed. And you don’t have to have a vagina to keep high down below. The company has also released a line of rectal suppositories, so you can get it in and get it on, no matter what kind of genitalia you posses.

The Economist-A Growing Number of Countries are deciding to Ditch Prohibition. What comes Next?

IN AN anonymous-looking building a few minutes’ drive from Denver International Airport, a bald chemotherapy patient and a pair of giggling tourists eye the stock on display. Reeking packets of mossy green buds—Girl Scout Cookies, KoolAid Kush, Power Cheese—sit alongside cabinets of chocolates and chilled drinks. In a warehouse behind the shop pointy-leaved plants bask in the artificial light of two-storey growing rooms. Sally Vander Veer, the president of Medicine Man, which runs this dispensary, reckons the inventory is worth about $4m.

America, and the world, are going to see a lot more such establishments. Since California’s voters legalised the sale of marijuana for medical use in 1996, 22 more states, plus the District of Columbia, have followed suit; in a year’s time the number is likely to be nearer 30. Sales to cannabis “patients” whose conditions range from the serious to the notional are also legal elsewhere in the Americas (Colombia is among the latest to license the drug) and in much of Europe. On February 10th Australia announced similar plans.

6 ways marijuana is being consumed without lighting up
by Clint Davis of ABC10 News KGTV San Diego
ABC 10 News KGTV San Diego

Smoking a joint is so old-fashioned.

As marijuana use becomes more legal and mainstream in the U.S., users are coming up with creative ways the substance can be consumed.

Listed below are six forms in which pot is currently being marketed and sold.

Marijuana Butter

Recipes for pot-laced butter are readily available online and several companies sell the substance under various brand names. Marijuana butter often reportedly contains elevated concentrations of THC, the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana users a high. A 2014 story alleged that eight people at a birthday party in Spain were hospitalized after unknowingly eating a cake that was baked with marijuana butter.

Breath Spray

Late last year, an Oakland, California-based company launched a line of breath sprays that were infused with THC. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, one option “tastes minty, sweet and spiked with a bitter medicinal extract flavor.” The effects of marijuana mouth spray take just a few minutes to set in.

Sexual Lubricant

This is arguably one of the most creative uses for marijuana since the substance started becoming legal in recent years. California-based Foria sells a pot-infused sexual lubricant that is aimed at women. According to the Daily Mail, the spray uses the “relaxing properties of cannabis” to make sex better.

Tea

Creative marijuana users have been making drinks out of pot for decades but the Internet makes it easier than ever to find a recipe. An Ohio woman temporarily lost custody of her newborn daughter in September after admittedly drinking marijuana tea while pregnant. The woman claimed the tea helped with morning sickness and that she researched the health ramifications of the drink heavily.

Cotton Candy

KandyCare, a company that makes pot-infused sweets, has produced possibly the only cotton candy that will give consumers more than just a sugar high. The company’s Cotton Kandy is available in two flavors: Phaded Pink and Blazed Blue. Each package contains 55 milligrams of THC, which is an amount meant for people with a “high tolerance,” according to experts on medical marijuana.

Lotion

Colorado-based Apothecanna offers a line of skincare products derived from pot. According to the company, the lotions won’t result in a failed drug test but may provide some level of high.

BROS: There Is Now A Weed Lube That Gets Your Girl’s Vagina High...

...And Turns You Into A Semi-Decent Lover

by Matt Keohan, July 26, 2015

I think we can all agree that stoned sex is the best sex. Marijuana has been used as an aphrodisiac for thousands of years. Ancient Indian medicine systems used cannabis to increase libido, produce long-lasting boners, and delay ejaculation.

But isn’t ingesting weed through your lungs, down through your stomach, and into your meat popsicle a DRAG?? Why not apply it straight to your girl’s hoo ha? WELP, now you can.

Foria cannabis lube is a sex lube made “all natural liquid coconut oil (MCT) and purified pharmaceutical-grade cannabis oil,” according to its website. You spray a few squirts of the lube on your lover’s clitoris and labia and she’ll immediately forget what a shitty lover you were previously.

...Jawbreaker... Brittney Fennell Talks Herbal Stimulation

By Brittney Fennell, Follow @ThisIsBrittneyF

Like to indulge in a little herbal stimulation? Welp, one expert says weed could cause dry vagina. In a recent interview with Vice, Dr. Julie Holland, author of the book no doubt on our summer read list Moody Bitches: The Truth About the Drugs You’re Taking, the Sleep You’re Missing, the Sex You’re Not Having and What’s Really Making You Crazy, provided some insight into the new finding.

Say hello to the cannabis lube Foria.

Yes it’s a lube that gets your vagina higher than the Empire State Building. It comes nicely packaged in a glass spray bottle. “I haven’t tried it and don’t have any data,” says Dr. Holland on Foria. “But here’s what I will say that’s very important: I believe it’s in the base of coconut oil and I think that coconut oil is excellent for lubrication. I’ve had patients tell me, I’ve had friends tell me, it is better than any other lube they’ve tried. I think the coconut oil base may be Foria’s charm.”

Holland says dry vajayjay due to weed smoking all depends on the strain of cannabis.

“There’s the whole head versus body issue. The critical mind needs to be put on pause to really enjoy yourself and get in your body, to not worry about how long it’s taking or what you look like. There are some strains of cannabis that help you get in your body and more aware of your body, but there are some strains that make you more in your head, more critical. You really need to experiment a bit to find what works for you.”

Foria is available online at $44 (10 mL) and $88 (30mL). You’re welcome.

Can Marijuana Jumpstart your Love Life? via SF Evergreen Cannabis Media
Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez on Foria & Sexxpot, a new strain of marijuana...

“There’s an enormous need” for women-friendly cannabis products, said Speciale, who noted that her customer base often remarks how hard it is to find a marijuana product made with women in mind.

Foria Cannabis

May 18, 2015 at 8:00 am

To spur women into earthshaking multiple orgasms, all you need is the right weed.

That’s the promise of Sexxpot, a strain of cannabis that specifically stimulates the female libido.

A low sex drive can be a sign of health problems. But sexual pleasure is also a big part of overall wellness, said Karyn Wagner from Paradigm Cannabis Group, the Humboldt County-based collective behind the sex power flower.

There are several cannabis-based products promising enhanced sex available now on the market. But whereas infused oils like Foria are meant to be used as a topical, spurring libido by direct application onto the clitoris and labia, Sexxpot is specifically meant for smoking.

While searching for just the right strain to use as a sex aid, Wagner chanced upon Mr. Nice, an indica dominant strain with roots in the legendary G13.

Wagner had gone through several trial-and-error experiments with her partner, but the result of this test drive was explosive. Afterwards, “We said, ‘That was very good for me,’” Wagner said.

She asked her partner to think of a name for the cannabis-aided sexual experience. And “he called it Sexxpot,” she said.

Sexxpot is not bred specifically to hop up a woman’s libido. Instead, it’s the strain best-suited to enhance a woman’s mood, Wagner said.

“You relax and your senses are at full alert. You can have that sensuousness,” said Wagner, who described the strain’s overall feel as “oh my gosh, that’s good.”

Cannabis’s utility as a love aid is no secret, and other indica strains may also help partners connect and relax before coitus. However, one factor in Sexxpot’s favor is its moderate THC level, 14 percent, and its “negligibly low” level of CBD, Wagner said. This combination, she said, allows women to relax into a sensual, sensation-receptive state of mind.

But does it work for everybody?

“I’ve always been high strung during sex,” one woman told me on a recent evening during an industry event at Oaksterdam University. Sure enough, after a few puffs of Sexxpot, her desire and her tactile sensitivity grew.

That wasn’t all.

She and her partner were able to experience synchronous orgasms, and sensational ones achieved in force, she said, providing detail that caused this reporter to blush a little.

Despite women preaching Sexxpot’s value in the bedroom, dispensaries have thus far given the strain the cold shoulder. “The male dominated buying community doesn’t understand the need for the product. They say, ‘It won’t sell,’” Wagner said. “But you need to cater to a female market and let them know they have it.”

Luckily for local ladies, there are a few dispensaries that welcome women-specific products with open arms. One of these is Phytologie Wellness, in Oakland, where women make up 40 percent of the clientele, according to Aundre Speciale, the dispensary’s wellness director and operator.

“There’s an enormous need” for women-friendly cannabis products, said Speciale, who noted that her customer base often remarks how hard it is to find a marijuana product made with women in mind.

So far, Sexxpot is available only at Phytologie and Cannabis Buyers Club in Berkeley. But Wagner has high dreams for her orgasm-inducing cannabis strain. Themed vape pens are on the way, as well as edibles.

Sexxpot is also sex positive from a woman’s perspective: The strain is grown, marketed, and vended solely by women. And Wagner is confident business success will follow good things in the bedroom. As she put it, “This thing is too much fun, right?”

We've all heard of cotton mouth, but that's not the only orifice with some marijuana-related issues.
THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2015 01:30 AM PDT

One reason women should think twice about smoking weed before sex...

Truth or Myth? Follow the 'Cotton Vagina' coverage with Foria.

PHILLIP SMITH, @ALTERNET @Salon

The solution to “cotton vagina” with penetrative sex is really no surprise: lube it up! Coconut oil or other lubes are the thing, Stewart said, and even when cannabis is part of the problem, it can also be part of the solution. The cannabis lubricant Foria could help, she said in response to a query.

“Foria? I’ve heard of it,” she said. “I haven’t tried it and don’t have any data, but here’s what I will say that’s very important: I believe it’s in a base of coconut oil and I think that coconut oil is excellent for lubrication.”I’ve had patients tell me, I’ve had friends tell me, it is better than any other lube they’ve tried.”

To paraphrase Homer’s Simpson’s famous aphorism about alcohol (“the cause of and solution to all life’s problems”), when it comes to cotton vagina, cannabis may be the problem, but it can also be the solution.

Smoking Cannabis 'Dries Out your Vagina,' author claims - But there is Hope!

By Emma O'Reilly | May 9, 2015

Doctor who wrote hit book on drugs and sex says smoking marijuana can dry out your mouth and your vagina...

It's a phenomenon that's been dubbed the "cotton vagina" in urban dictionaries and been brought to light on internet forums.

But up until now there has been very little expert opinion on the urban myth that smoking weed, just like allergies to medicines, can dry out the vagina.

Writing for Vice, Sophie Saint Thomas spoke to Dr Julie Holland, author of must-read Moody Bitches: The Truth About the Drugs You're Taking, the Sleep You're Missing, the Sex You're Not Having and What's Really Making You Crazy, about the reported side effect.

When asked whether vaginal dryness was linked to marijuana use, just like dry mouth, Dr Holland said: "Exactly like dry mouth. It's the same thing. It's the drying of the mucus membranes.

"Now not all pot is going to give you dry mouth, but if you have had a strain that is giving you dry mouth, it will also make you more dry [down there]."

Cannabis Problem: What effect does it have down below?

But other factors can have more impact on levels of lubrication, the medical expert said.

"In general the thing that makes women dry is the pill. Because there's all this different mucus that happens throughout your cervical cycle.

"As Mother Nature designs it, when you're fertile, you're wet. But if you're on the pill, you don't ovulate; you don't get that mid-cycle wetness."

Dr Holland said using coconut oil, or even cannabis lube Foria, could help alleviate any vaginal discomfort from smoking the drug.

"Foria? I've heard of it," she said. "I haven't tried it and don't have any data, but here's what I will say that's very important: I believe it's in a base of coconut oil and I think that coconut oil is excellent for lubrication.

"I've had patients tell me, I've had friends tell me, it is better than any other lube they've tried."

So don't despair yet, although the myth of cotton vagina appears to be a reality, a remedy is at hand.
